Biography

Since early childhood, I have shown great interest in anything music related. I have played piano since age four and have continued playing numerous instruments throughout my career. Currently, I can play approximately fourteen musical instruments, four of which I have played the longest and have pursued professionally. I have had a rich musical education since childhood. I took private piano lessons since the age of five through senior year of college and I also have had guitar, voice and percussion lessons given to me by educators throughout my career.

In elementary school, I began playing percussion and continued to do so throughout High School. It was also during my High School years that I picked up Guitar and Voice. I attended Cherry Creek High School for three years and was a prominent member of both top ensembles, the CCHS Wind Ensemble and the elite honor choir, the CCHS Meistersingers.

I continued my education further by attending the University of Northern Colorado for four years and while there studied private piano as a Piano Major, as well as taking part in two top choral ensembles, the Concert Choir and Men's Glee Club. While fulfilling my music credit classes, I learned the basics for an additional ten instruments included in the brass, woodwind and string families. During my Senior Year at UNC I also completed a mandatory Senior Recital for Piano. I graduated in December of 2009 and since then have held a teaching license as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, with an emphasis for Vocal, Piano and General Music.

Since college, I have been doing my best to stay active in the music education system. In 2011 and 2012, I finished three long term substitute teaching assignments in Douglas County School District, the first and third at Trailblazer Elementary School, where I taught General Music every day to Kindergartners through sixth graders and the second at Mountain Ridge Middle School, where I directed and conducted the 7th/8th grade Winter Choir Concert.

I am continuing to teach privately and perform semi-regularly for friends, family, students, nursing homes and wedding venues. I have always found joy, not only playing for myself, but also sharing my music with others. I am currently the Cantorial Soloist for a small congregation in Westminster, CO, singing sacred music for the Jewish High Holy Days and have been there for 6 years. Music is my Passion; it has been a part of my life since early childhood and has enriched my life greatly. To this day I still love to play piano professionally and I strive to make myself a better musician every chance I get.
